Hello SAINTS!
After praying, considering scripture, and reading advisories from our Fellowship, as well as our state and federal governments; I want to address the Corona Virus and its impact on our times of worshipping The LORD together. The strategy that I believe the LORD has shown me to follow should by no means be viewed as a rejection or judgment of the direction other church leaders are taking, but specific to our church family, our facilities, and a sensitivity to the people of the high desert.
On March 17, 2020 The San Bernardino County released the following statement:
County Orders Cancellation For All Gatherings
In view of this press release, the size of our congregation, and the essential function the gathering of GOD's people fulfills in our communities, The Lighthouse Church of Hesperia will continue holding services at our scheduled times, however we will be making adjustments to the way we gather.
Until further notice, in an attempt to avoid the erroneous perception that the church doesn't care, or "not love its neighbors," we will minimize the number of attendees at service and spread out seating to insure recommended social distancing.
To accomplish this, if possible, I am asking that the head of each household attend if they desire, and bring home the message to their respective families. Copies of the sermon notes will be made available to all who attend, and the audio version of the message will be made immediately available online at the conclusion of the service so that families can come together in their homes to listen to the preaching of HIS Word, and in this way, everyone can remain connected with the body of Christ.
Wherever possible, I am also encouraging families to leave their children home as we will not have classes for the children, but will have all those who attend, seated with appropriate distancing, in the sanctuary. We are also working to livestream services beginning this weekend, and hope that this measure will help maintain connectivity in the body of Christ.
Individuals involved in ministry that takes place in the sanctuary are not to be discouraged from attending, even in instances where they are not the head of the household. Their participation in the song service, and as ushers is an important part of our worship, and critical for maintaining congregant safety.
Please continue to pray for HIS deliverance for our community and our nation. In these times, the need for JESUS is obvious.
May our eyes be open to recognize the opportunity we have been given to help people overcome their fears by turning to HIM for deliverance.
In HIS service,
Pastor George Neos
